The Myth of owning your own business.

Did you or do you think owning your own business would mean?

  1. Freedom
  2. More money
  3. Less hours
  4. Better lifestyle
  5. Flexible working day?
This is a myth. Setting up a profitable business is extremely hard work and can easily lead to exhaustion if stress is not managed.
The key is to notice the stress signals “yellow signals” and take the time to relax. You may be required to work longer hours in the first year or two but nothing is worth losing sleep or relationships over.
What are yellow signals?
  • Thinking about work all the time?
  • Sleep disturbances
  • Short fuse
  • Reactive behaviour
  • Cancelling non work arrangements
Make sure you keep fuel’d, regular exercise is a must and be sure to start winding down at least two hours before bed. Everyone has different yellow signals so keep in mind what yours are. Your body will always warn you ahead of time, usually numerous times if your energy levels are getting to low and stress levels to high. Learn to listen to your physiology.
